Maintaining Weight is always the primary goal when someone enters a weight management program. At out weight loss centers in Cincinnati and Florence Kentucky we believe that everyone should start with two goals. First to lose weight, but also to learn how to maintain their weight. Weight maintenance is the key to stopping yo-yo dieting. So how do we maintain our weight once we reach our goal? That is both simple and complicated at the same time.

First, if you found a program that consistently allows you to lose body fat then you will want to continue using that program about 80% of the time to maintain your weight long term. That would look something like; eating clean Monday-Friday and having a couple of “cheat meals” over the weekend. This process, unfortunately, can turn into a slippery slope. You will want to stay diligent to the 80% clean 20% “cheat” formula. If you go from 80/20 to 70/30 to 60/40 you will see yourself slowly start to put weight back on. You also need to make sure that your program is healthy long term and the weight you are losing is fat. In our weight loss clinics we only use natural procedures and monitor body fat closely. Finally if you see your weight starting to consistently increase at any point go back to the program that was working for you until back to your goal weight.
